The Butte-Silver Bow Chamber of Commerce is striving to become the focal point for our Butte community through advocacy and action. The Chamber is focused to create success for and the growth of area businesses. The vision is to create a prosperous business community by empowering the businesses to be pro-active, make an investment in the community, become knowledgeable and involved in all areas of community issues, and to use the talents and resources to build a stronger community and enhance the quality of life in Butte. Our ability to retain our sense of community and our loyalty to our community are our strongest assets. Working together we can maintain those traditions we love and have come to cherish while improving the economic vitality and quality of life through prosperity and growth. The Butte-Silver Bow Chamber of Commerce offers members the opportunity to share their expertise and skills to help create a prosperous business community and enhance the quality of life in Butte. By working on committees and programs, members help the Chamber shape issues, plan events, and accomplish goals that are important for the economic vitality of our community. Committee participation is a great way for members to network, share ideas, and further the Chambers' objectives.
The Butte-Silver Bow Chamber Ambassadors serve as a liaison between the leadership, staff, volunteers, and individual members of the Chamber. They strengthen Chamber Member involvement by educating members about their membership benefits and services. The Chamber Ambassadors welcome new and existing businesses with a Ribbon Ceremony and present each one with a certificate. They also assist with Grand Openings/Open Houses, Convention/Event Registrations, Business Card Socials and the Chamber's Annual Banquet.
This committee works to provide a fun, profitable event where Chamber Members have the opportunity to have an enjoyable night out, complete with music and fantastic food, as well Live and Silent Auctions. This event provides the Chamber with additional revenue to provide other member services.
This committee works to provide a fun, profitable event in which Chamber Members have the opportunity to network with others and participate in a well organized golf tournament.
Budget & Finance Committee
This committee is made up of members of our Board of Directors to evaluate the finances of the Chamber of Commerce and make recommendations for budgeting and financial decisions.
Composed of volunteers from Public Works, Health Department, and Chamber Members, the Civic Improvement Committee works with the city to help maintain and improve areas around the county to by planting, cleaning, and weeding. The beautiful hanging flower baskets seen along the main thorough-fares are the work of this committee.
The responsibility of this board is to effectively promote the history, culture, arts, and recreation of the Butte-Silver Bow area, while continuing to preserve and protect the resources and quality of life for area residents. It is also responsible for the publication of the Butte Visitors Guide and the promotion of Butte as a convention center.
Organized by the Leadership, Organization, Education, and Development committee, L.E.A.D. is the premier, community leadership training program, which educates and motivates existing and potential community leaders. Class members attend six to seven sessions and learn from speakers who are experts in their field, take tours of the community, government, and business sectors.
The Legislative Issues Committee was established to analyze and act on proceedings of the local, state, and federal governments that impact the business community.
Made up of local retailers, this committee's goal is to keep retail dollars spent by the local community within the community. They are undertaking efforts to educate local businesses on the value of working together to enhance the perception of retail offerings in the local community.
This committee helps to showcase the many athletic activities that are held locally, works to solicit volunteers for these activities, and works closely with Advantage Butte and the Butte Civic Center Staff and the staffs of other local venues.
This committee is responsible for the development and implementation of the Chamber's strategy on legislative issues impacting the business community. It seeks to identify pending and enacted legislative issues relevant to business in Silver Bow County and the State of Montana.
The Transportation Committee is in existence to enhance and support air transportation for our community. This committee works very closely with The Bert Mooney Airport to retain the present air service and work diligently to increase the number of flights into Butte. In the near future, this committee will review all other forms of transportation needs in our community.
Composed of those individuals in tourism related businesses, the committee works to improve attractions to provide visitors with a quality stay and assists with information in the Visitor Guide and attraction sheet. The committee supports the efforts of the CVB and the tourism industry by working in close conjunction with them.
